Our beloved Adriana Maria Lira, a true San Diego original with a smile that could light up the whole 619, passed away peacefully at her home in Oceanside on June 19, 2025. Born on January 20, 1978, at Paradise Valley Hospital in National City, Adriana brought joy and sunshine to every life she touched from the moment she arrived. Living with Rhett syndrome, Adriana had her own special way of communicating with us. It was a language of pure love, understood through her bright eyes, gentle spirit, and that incredible smile. She made everyone feel seen and cherished. You could always find her soaking up the sun in her grandma's backyard on the weekends, probably with a BBQ sizzling and some good tunes playing. Those were her happy places, just chilling with family, making memories that feel like warm sunshine now. Adriana found great joy in her daily routine with her loving parents. She learned to love yoga, practicing every day in the living room with her Mom, Estella, a peaceful ritual they shared. Her Dad, John, often took her to the beach, where she reveled in the sun and sea air. Adriana also cherished getting dressed up and going to parties, truly coming alive when surrounded by her people. Her infectious enthusiasm and incredible smile made every gathering brighter. She also cherished her walks with her grandparents, John and Frances Lira, moments that were undoubtedly filled with quiet understanding and deep affection. And when it came to her cousins? Forget about it. Hanging out with her cousins was her jam, and if you knew Adriana, you knew she had a special spot for her favorite cousin – the one whose pictures were plastered all over her room. (Yeah, that's us.) Adriana had a way of brightening your day no matter what. Her smile was infectious, and even when she’d drop her favorite word – "Q" – it just made you grin. She was loved by absolutely everyone in her family, a testament to her beautiful spirit and the genuine warmth she shared so freely. Adriana is survived by her loving parents, John and Estella Lira, who will forever carry her memory in their hearts. She leaves behind a cherished family who will deeply miss her laughter, her presence, and that incredible smile.
